Back to School

Mornings can be hectic when the kids get back to the ol' grind. One of my biggest morning frustrations is trying to find all of those little elastics and hair do-dads that I need to get the hairdo just right. I came up with and idea to help myself out this year, hopefully this will make my mornings run a little more smoothly. I picked up a small tackle box at the Dollar Store, and because it looked a bit "boring", I grabbed some decorations to fancy it up a little bit while I was there.

Happy Father's Day

 Things you will need:

  • Rocks
  • Hand Print Kit or Plaster of Paris
  • Plastic or Aluminum Plate
  • Modge Podge

Our firtst collection of rocks were a bit too big for the size of our plate so, we went back out and collected some smaller gravel size rocks.  So, place the rocks in the empty plate to make sure they fit.

Lay them out the same way outside the plate.

Don't worry if it looks a little rough, when it's dry you can sand down the edges and give it a scrub with a stiff brush to clean off the rocks.

Add a coat of Mod Podge to bring out the rocks and...

Voila!

Get Well Soon

Sophia got the cutest Get Well Soon card from her class after missing a week of school and having to spend a night in the hospital.  We are all feeling so much better so I just had to share this card.  It sure brightened her day!

It says "Sophia, you rest well and come back quickly because,"

"Here we are without you"

"and, here we are with you!"

Each student wrote their own name on the band-aids and glued on googly eyes!!  SO CUTE!!!  Best idea ever!

Hoppy Easter Treat!

Need a really quick, really cute dessert for Easter?  These are super kid friendly although I did these without Sophia and in about 15 minutes.

Start with small white powdered doughnuts, then all you need is...

Stick each marshmallow ear with a toothpick and then stick it in the doughnut, do this first to all of them and place them on the plate before decorating the rest.

Please Donate

April 27th is Daffodil Day!

On Daffodil Day we ask Canadians to take a moment to reflect upon the thousands of people who are living with cancer and to remember those who have died. On this important day we encourage Canadians to do something special for those living with cancer or to contribute in some way to the fight against this disease.

This month, I am selling my Crochet Daffodil Pattern on Etsy (please use link to purchase the pattern).  All profits from this pattern will be donated to a local little girl named Kameryn who is currently battling Lukemia.  She is raising money for her Relay For Life Team.  If you would like to contribute and do not have any use for a crochet pattern, you can also donate through Paypal by clicking on my "Donate" button at the top of this blog.  All money raised on this site throughout the month of April will be donated, so please be generous if you can!

You can follow Kameryn's story on Facebook by following this link http://www.facebook.com/pages/Kameryns-Korner/335049286526767

Easter Craft

 Embroidery Floss Easter Eggs

I went in to 'help' my daughters class with this cute Easter craft idea.  She is in Senior Kindergarden and I think they did a great job!  Her teacher found the idea on this site.
I guess they'll pop the ballons at school on Monday but I might have to wait to see the finished product later this week :)

Wall E and Eve

Wall E and Eve

My friend's son's 3rd birthday was coming up and being the huge Wall E fan that he is, they went looking for Wall E toys and weren't able to find any.  So, I put a few patterns together and came up with these.  I'll post the instrusctions as soon as I iron them all out.

Be My Valentine

Step 1:  Take a cute picture of your valentine with an outstretched arm (like they're holding a lolly pop).

Step 2:  Add some stickers and text using your favourite photo editing program...I use Picnik.

Step 3:  Print your photo and punch holes at the top and bottom of the outstretched hand.

Step 4:  Insert the lolly pop through the holes and TA-DA!  Super cute Valentine's Day Card!!
