Don't Lick the Dog by Wendy Wahman is the perfect book for dog-loving children. My sister bought this book for my daughter when we brought our puppy, Harry home in June. I have always tried to teach her good dog manners and she is good to ask before she pets an unfamiliar dog, "stranger dog" as we call them. This book teaches the same lessons in a cute way as well as providing helpful tips about all sorts of dog behavior.
Also, Harry is starting to look more and more like Maddie from the book except he is the opposite because Harry is black and super friendly and Maddie is white and not so friendly.
